Johansson to present fashion award
At the premiere awards ceremony for the fashion industry:
Johansson is reportedly presenting the prestigious 2006 Womanswear Designer of the Year award at the event on June 5th.
This is pretty fitting as Scarlett’s a pretty fashionable girl.

Scarlett Johansson will topline director Barry Levinson’s heist film Brilliant, from Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films.
The film, which will head into production in September, follows Johansson as a jewel thief who teams up with a conman to pull off the biggest heist in history. However, the duo’s relationship is fraught with twists and turns.
Gillian Gorfil and Elizabeth Shorten wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Gorfil and Nicholas Lorentz.
Brilliant is being produced by Avi Lerner, Randall Emmett, Melanie Johansson and Gorfil. Boaz Davidson, George Furla, Danny Dimbort and John Thompson will executive produce.
Lerner expects the movie to be a wide release in September 2007.
Sounds like a paint by numbers heist movie, but hey, it does have Scarlett going for it.
Scarlett in a flap with New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg
Bloomberg’s office invited her for a press conference on tax breaks to Hollywood studios.

At the conference, Bloomberg told reporters he was excited about standing “next to a real beauty, Scarlett Johansson … Now she’s not here yet.”
When Johansson failed to show, the media was quick to assume it was the actress’ fault.
However, the actress insists she declined the invitation prior to the event, telling the New York Daily News, “We were never supposed to be part of the press conference.
“I am filming ‘The Nanny Diaries’ and production will always come first.”
Can’t really fault a girl for working hard.
